'The Daily Show' host kept his composure while admitting he was "very much afraid" as Trump edged closer to victory on Tuesday night.

There were many reactions throughout the celebrity as Donald Trump swept unexpectedly to victory in Tuesday’s presidential election – but one person (just about) keeping their cool and being funny while doing so was TV host Trevor Noah.

The South African-born comedian hosted ‘The Daily Show’s election night special, and reacted with increasing horror as Trump racked up the electoral college votes and edged ever closer to the White House.

Jon Stewart returned to 'The Daily Show' on Monday night for the first time since his departure back in August. This time Stewart was appearing as a guest and had an important message for Congress on behalf of 9/11 first responders.

As Stewart sat down new host Trevor Noah asked: "Shit, are you here to take the show back? I heard about this on American TV.” But Stewart assured him he has no interested in returning to his own job, instead he was there for a very important reason.

Trevor Noah Misses 'The Daily Show' Because Of Emergency Surgery

The South African comedian has been heading up 'The Daily Show' for just over a month, but has had to miss Wednesday night's show because he underwent an appendectomy.

Trevor Noah, the brand new presenter of ‘The Daily Show’, is to miss tonight’s episode of the satirical news program after undergoing an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday (November 4th).

The Comedy Central series’ producers have announced that they’ll be broadcasting an encore episode on Wednesday evening in order to give the South African newcomer time to recover from the surgery, but reassured viewers via Twitter that Noah expects to have recovered fully in time for Thursday’s episode.

'The Daily Show' is returning next Monday on Comedy Central, and the network has announced the first week's worth of guests for the new presenter.

Trevor Noah’s guests for his first week presenting ‘The Daily Show’ have been announced, with just a few days to go before the Comedy Central talk show takes a great step into the unknown.

Noah, who was selected by Comedy Central’s president of programming Kent Alterman to be Jon Stewart’s replacement after he retired last month after presenting the show for 16 years, will be talking to comedian Kevin Hart on his first ever show on Monday (September 28th).

As time goes on, the plan is clearly to keep things much the same as they were under Stewart, talking to a mixture of celebrities and more serious guests such as politicians and industry executives.

The man Stewart once called 'F***face von Clownstick' is currently leading the race for the Republican Party's presidential nomination.

Jon Stewart has made one final parting shot at Donald Trump, detailing what he would do if the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination actually reached the White House in next year’s election.

While speaking to the press after accepting two Primetime Emmy Awards given to Comedy Cental’s ‘The Daily Show’ on Sunday, the late night political satire show he presented for 16 years until last month, Stewart was asked whether he’d return to his former post if his ‘nemesis’ achieved the highest office in the country in 2016.
