Taylor Swift's '1989' World Tour Has Made Over $173 Million So Far

Taylor Swift’s mammoth 1989 world tour has so far grossed over $173 million, according to Billboard’s Hot Tours list. It’s the sixth time so far this year that the singer has topped Billboard’s weekly tally of highest-grossing touring artists, making $13.6 million in this week alone.

Swift took $13.6 million from just three venues on the second leg of her North American tour, bringing the total gross of her ‘1989’ shows to $173 million from 59 reported concerts. The tour’s second leg began on July 6 in Ottawa and is set to end in Tampa at the end of October.

The ‘1989’ tour kicked-off back in May, and so far the singer has performed for more than 1.5 million fans at 24 arenas and 13 stadiums, according to reported box office stats. But it’s not just her live shows that are raking in the big bucks for Swift.

The Daily Mail reports that the 25 year old is now the highest-paid musician in the world after reportedly earning more than one million dollars a day for the duration of 2015. Swift is said to have made around $317.8 million since January, thanks to her hit singles and album as well as the ‘1989’ tour and a series of lucrative endorsement deals.

Speaking to the newspaper, Los Angeles-based media analyst Mike Raia said, “Right now, Taylor is untouchable. She is so far ahead of everyone else in the industry that she has become not only a powerhouse entertainer but also an important mover and shaker on the commercial side on the music business.”

Earlier this year Swift was ranked eighth in the Forbes Celebrity 100 rich list and number 64 in the Powerful Women list. The magazine also predicted that she will hit billionaire status by her 30th birthday, eventually become one of the world's wealthiest women.

Swift’s lucrative endorsement deals include contracts with Elizabeth Arden (with whom she has launched three fragrances), Diet Coke and Keds footwear. The singer and her boyfriend, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, also recently topped a Forbes poll of the highest paid celeb couples, with a combined net worth of $146 million.
