10 Times Angelina Jolie Turned Heads On The Red Carpet
Angelina Jolie looked positively stunning as per usual when she hit the proverbial red carpet with hubby Brad Pitt for the WSJ. Magazine 2015 Innovator Awards at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Wearing a strapless floor-length gown in her staple colour of black, it got us thinking about all her best entrances.
There's no arguing about the adorableness of that velvet bow at the back of her sheer-panelled dress. She had her hair pulled in an up-do for maximum effect, maintaining such elegance and grace that can only be achieved by a star of her calibre and experience. Of course, this is but one in a long line of jaw-dropping looks this 40-year-old has pulled off on the red carpet in recent years.

Jolie was an ice queen at the 20th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards held at the Hollywood Palladium in January this year. Her Atelier Versace silver satin number graced the blue carpet and gave her an enviably curvy silhouette that suffered no distractions as she left her beautiful face virtually blank.
Probably the most unforgettable was her rock chick leather ensemble that she wore for the Hollywood premiere of her 'Sleeping Beauty' spin-off movie 'Maleficent'. Another floor-length Versace piece, it was strapless and ruched at the hip, teamed up with two gold studded wrist cuffs and no other accessories.
For the 2014 BAFTAs, Jolie proved she could rock a suit better than any of her male peers, and the quirky tux style definitely went down well with the crowd. Patent stilettos, skinny pants and an open-neck white shirt with an adornment to look like an untied bow-tie was the look and she most definitely won in the style stakes despite her fellow dressy actresses.
The 'World War Z' premiere in Berlin saw her step away from black again, and enter a very futuristic world. The calf-length Ralph & Russo frock adopted the peplum style in a white, sleeveless style with metallic gold panels around the waist. It was spectacularly minimalist, which isn't unusual for less-is-more Jolie.
That same year she attended the 4th annual Women in the World Summit at the David H. Koch Theater in New York and went for a much more mature approach to style. That's the best thing about Angelina Jolie when it comes to dressing; she always chooses the outfit most appropriate for the event. Her modest, sheer black cardigan with the brown tasselled gown certainly told the world that she's serious about her charity work.
Almost like an early incarnation of the leather number, Jolie went black velvet for the 2012 Academy Awards. She posed seductively, her hand on her ruched hip and displayed her long pins through the long slit in the opposite side. A slick of red lipstick added some traditional Hollywood glamour to this Atelier Versace look.
Swapping black for white once again at the 2012 Golden Globes, Jolie wowed in a sleek satin piece (strapless and with a slit up the leg again, obviously) that positively popped with the splash of red on the collar, the crimson clutch and the scarlet lip. And if you can't guess the designer by now, you need to read this again.
The actress oozed Hollywood princess on the red carpet at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. She wore an aubergine taffeta outfit that once again closely resembled her Versace velvet and leather. It's one of our favourites simply because she looked so demure and chic, while on anybody else such an ensemble would look clichéd.
Quite a departure from her usual looks, Jolie dressed all in red for the Moscow premiere of her 2010 film 'Salt'. It was a chiffon, halter-neck wrap design that blew favourably with any gust of wind. Again, she eschewed the accessories and merely went for a muted red lipstick to complete the modest look. Perfection.
