Walt Disney directed the black and white animation with Ub Iwerks in 1928. The film was only a short and it was thought to be lost by the studios but in 2015 the BFI found a copy in their archives - thought to be the only one in existence.

The films lead character is Oswald The Lucky Rabbit who clearly has signature Disney markings – he was a precursor to Mickey Mouse. Sleigh bells is one of Disney’s first proper films.
