Natalia Lafourcade Reigns At 2015 Latin Grammy Awards With Five Wins [Photos]

This year's Latin Grammy Awards was as colorful as ever, with performances from the likes of Will Smith and Nicky Jam, to political statements against racism and Donald Trump. Plus, Natalia Lafourcade predictably stole the night with no less than FIVE trophies.

The Mexican popstar looked thrilled as she posed on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas following her explosive win. Not only did she land Record Of The Year for 'Hasta La Raíz' featuring Leonel García, she also managed to grab Song Of The Year and Best Alternative Song, with her album of the same name landing Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album.

She lost out on Album Of The Year, however, to Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra's 'Todo Tiene Su Hora', which also earned Best Contemporary Tropical Album. His song 'Tus Besos' was nominated for Record Of The Year and Best Tropical Song, but only won the latter.

Lafourcade's collaborator García didn't manage to scoop any solo wins on the night, with his single '¿Recuerdas?' losing out on Song Of The Year, his album 'Amor Futuro' being ousted for Best Singer-Songwriter Album by Alex Cuba's 'Healer', and his record with Jorge Drexler, 'Ella Es', didn't make Record Of The Year.

It was good news for Columbia collective Monsieur Periné, though, with the newcomers getting recognised as the Best New Artist - their album 'Caja De Música' was even nominated for Album Of The Year. They faced competition in the New Artist category from the likes of jazz pianist Iván Melón Lewis, Venezualan singer Manu Manzo and Rubén Rada's daughter Julieta Rada.

Jacqueline Bracamontes and 'Without a Trace' star Roselyn Sanchez co-hosted the 16th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, which also saw wins from urban musicians Tego Calderón and J Balvin, Enrique Iglesias with Nicky Jam, and video director Marcelo Fontao.
