Where Has 'The Sexiest Woman Of All Time' Rachel Stevens Been Since 2008?

Rachel’s back, maybe for good, but where’s she been hiding since 'Strictly' in 2008?

Hot of the heels of Rachel Stevens being crowned FHM’s Sexiest Woman of All Time, there are now rumblings that her old group, S Club 7 are set to follow every other 90s pop band and reunite. But standing in our local newsagents and seeing a scantly clad Rachel staring out at us from the FHM cover made us feel like we’ve travelled back in time, to 2003. Come to think of it, the last time we remember seeing Rachel was on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2008. So where has the ‘sexiest woman of all time’ been for the last six years?

When the S Club party finally ended in 2003, their most famous member, Rachel Stevens unsurprisingly began a solo career thanks to a £1.5 million record deal. Rachel enjoyed steady chart success, particularly in the summer time when songs like ‘Sweet Dreams My LA Ex’ and ‘More More More’ could be worked into our holiday playlist. In 2005 her second album Come and Get It was met with critical acclaim, even managing an inclusion in The Guardians ‘1,000 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die’ list. But, despite the critical praise, the album failed to sell.

After reigning supreme from 1998 to 2003, British pop band, S Club 7, are planning a reunion tour in 2015 - after breaking up over a decade ago.

S Club 7 are reportedly getting the band back together. After being away for over a decade, the seven-piece bubble-gum pop group are returning for a reunion tour in 2015. With a career spanning from the late nineties to the early noughties, Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens and Bradley Mcintosh released hits like 'Bring It All Back' and 'Never Had a Dream Come True', as well as several television series and a spin off band.

A source spoke to the 'Daily Mirror' newspaper, reporting: ''The band are even open to the idea of making new music.'' In its heyday, S Club 7 released four UK singles and a chart-topping album. They also worked on three television series, showing off their time in the US. They launched a competition to form a spin-off band, S Club 8, which launched the careers of Rochelle Humes and Frankie Sandford who later became The Saturdays.

The Big Reunion Set For A Big Comeback – S Club 7 And East 17 Rumoured

By Jack de Aguilar in Lifestyle / Showbiz on 01 May 2013

East 17 S Club 7

Who do you want to see back huffing and puffing on stage?

The Big Reunion provided quality viewing when it was first broadcast, pulling in 1 million viewers per episode, so ITV have decided it’s time for more. Get ready for some past-it bands to be given another shot to embarrass themselves.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but the bands rumoured to be making a comeback via the show are Big Brovaz, A1, Eternal and All Saints, S Club 7 and East 17. Of course, not all of them will be, but if we had a choice, we’d see S Club 7 (their recent performances as a threesome are laughable) and East 17 (just because). If they do indeed sign up, they will be follow in the footsteps of Five, 911, Atomic Kitten and Blue, who all starred in series one. A TV source said last night: “The first series did so well, it was always a no-brainer to give it a second run. We are still in the process of approaching bands, but we are confident of getting brilliant names on board. Names should be confirmed within the next two weeks.” The source added, "The follow-up will give viewers a chance to see the first series’ acts again and fill the gap between now and series two."

Of course, there’s something sad and desperate about the last swansongs attempted by these manufactured bands, but then again, we’re not the ones being sad and pathetic, and it makes for funny TV. All aboard!
