  • 29 January 2021

One of the hottest new talents to breakthrough during 2020, Arlo Parks, releases her latest single, 'Hope', to coincide with the release of her debut album, 'Collapsed in Sunbeams'. Park's new album, available as either a 12 track or 20 track 'Deluxe' edition is her first since she started to release music back in late 2018.

Of the new single Arlo Parks says, "This is a story of acceptance, friendship & working through trauma. I hope you love it, it’s my favourite song on the record." (I'm) "So overwhelmed by all the love on Hope already - thank you so much angels. If you haven’t seen the video yet, go have a lil watch and tell me what you think."

The video for the song was Directed Molly Burdett (‘Respite’ for Women’s Aid/Joesef 'Does it Make You Feel Good') and features the incredibly talented actress Molly Windsor ('Three Girls'/'Traces'/'Cheat') as well as Arlo Parks herself. "Acting has always been a secret dream of mine and this was a beautiful challenge" Park's explained via Twitter.

'Hope' is an incredible song, so smooth, gentle and laid back. Arlo delivers a seemingly effortless performance with Jazzy inflections. Her voice is evocative but with such an understated manner and delivery. Her sung and spoken performance are as compelling as each other and both give rise to a great song.

"Collapsed in Sunbeams is out!!! Right now!!!! I don’t know what to say? or how to be!? Giving thanks to my parents, my brother, my people, my team, the art, sweet tea and my instincts. HERE WE GOOOO" Arlo said excitedly, and I'd encourage everyone to go check it out because it's a beauty.
