To celebrate the forthcoming release of 'Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021)’, the 'Best Of', Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have released, 'We're On Our Way Now'. The new double album, due out on June 11th via Sour Mash records, is "curated and compiled entirely by Noel" and "includes tracks from the three Number One albums ('Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds', 'Chasing Yesterday' and 'Who Built The Moon?')" as well as "the three acclaimed EPs ('Black Star Dancing', 'This Is The Place' and 'Blue Moon Rising') - plus 2 previously unreleased tracks including the brand new single 'We’re On Our Way Now'!"

As well as his new retrospective collection Noel has also been busy on work to mark the 25th anniversary of the legendary Oasis gigs at Knebworth in August 1996. The two shows were attended by a huge crowd of 280,000 fans across the two nights and are regarded by their fans as one of the Manchester band's career highlights. Talking to BBC Radio 2's Zoe Ball, Noel said, "The gig Oasis did at Knebworth is 25 in August and back in 1996 we’d filmed it all really professionally with loads of cameras, we had cameras on the trains with fans. But for one reason or another, the film never came out but as it's the anniversary coming up, we're going to be releasing it now. I've seen a tiny trailer of it and it's a fantastic snapshot of a bygone era before the internet. It's great, really great."

To facilitate the making of the film Noel has set up a joint production company with his brother Liam sparking speculation that a reconciliation between the two might be possible. The relationship however seems to be purely a business one and is not expected to mark the start of an Oasis come back, much to the disappointment of many, including it would seem Liam!

With no Oasis reunion looking likely anytime in the near future Noel has chosen to look back on his solo work. In a press statement he said, "10 years of Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds?? Blimey! Just think of all the things I COULD have done in that time!! The title just came to me one afternoon, at the kitchen table. It's a saying isn't it: ‘back the way we came.’ I actually thought it was a great title. Which is why it's got vol 1. Because if there's another one, I'm not coming up with another title!"
