Ben Stiller (born Benjamin Edward Stiller 30.11.65) is an American actor, comedian and filmmaker, best known for his roles in 'Zoolander', 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty', the 'Madagascar' series, and the 'Night at the Museum' series.

Net Worth: In 2013, Celebrity Net Worth claimed that Ben Stiller has a net worth of 120 million USD.

Childhood: Ben Stiller was born in New York City to the comedian and actor couple, Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller. As both of his parent had busy work schedules, he spent a lot of time with them when they visited sets. He developed a love for filmmaking at an early age, and began making short movies on a video camera with his older sister and her friends. At the age of 9, Stiller made his acting debut in a television series starring his mother, entitled 'Kate McShane'. Stiller studied at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine before graduating from the Calhoun School in New York in 1983. He spent time participating in New York City's first All Children's Theatre. He later studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, as a film student for nine months, before leaving to pursue a career in acting in New York.

Career: When Stiller was 21, he appeared in the Broadway show, 'The House of Blue Leaves', alongside John Mahoney. While working on the show, Stiller produced a mockumentary about Mahoney, which was well received by the cast and crew. It prompted Stiller and Mahoney to work on a six minute short film entitled 'The Hustler of Money', a parody of 'The Color of Money' from Martin Scorsese in the style of a movie trailer. The short film was picked up by 'Saturday Night Live', who aired the film in 1987. Two years later, Stiller was invited to work as a writer for 'Saturday Night Live'. Stiller worked for 'SNL' for four episodes, as they did not want him to just make short films. He went on to work with John Cusack on the short film 'Elvis Stories' which was also considered a success. MTV was brought to develop the film 'Back to Brooklyn'. The channel was so impressed, that they offered Stiller the chance to have his own show, 'The Ben Stiller Show' in 1990. The show only appeared for one season on MTV, before it was then taken up again by Fox. The show earned an Emmy award for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program, despite low ratings. In 1998, Stiller appeared in the film 'There's Something About Mary' alongside Cameron Diaz, which went on to gain a strong cult following. He also appeared in 'Zero Effect', 'Your Friends & Neighbors', and 'Permanent Midnight' in the same year. In 2000, Stiller appeared in 'Meet the Parents', before directing his third feature film the next year, with him playing the titular role in 'Zoolander'. In 2004, he appeared in six films, 'Starsky & Hutch', 'Envy', 'DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story', 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy', 'Along Came Polly' and the sequel to 'Meet the Parents', 'Meet the Fockers'. The following year, he appeared in the animated film 'Madagascar'. In 2006, Stiller starred in 'Night at the Museum', which earned a strong box-office following. Two years later, he directed and starred alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black in 'Tropic Thunder'. The following year, he appeared in the sequel to 'Night at the Museum', entitled 'Battle of the Smithsonian'. In 2013, he directed, produced and starred in a personal passion project 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty'.

Personal Life: In 2000, Stiller married actress Christine Taylor, in Hawaii. In 2002, the couple had a daughter, Ella Olivia, and in 2005 they had a son, Quinlin Dempsey.

The Meyerowitz Stories (New And Selected) Review

Excellent

Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha) is on his way to becoming the new Woody Allen, which is a compliment. This film features an eclectic ensemble of A-listers coming together to play a hilariously neurotic Jewish New York family. The film is episodic and very entertaining as these people collide against each other. And their banter is wickedly funny, even when they're grappling with some very dark themes. It's also a rare chance to see Adam Sandler shine in a non-silly role.

He's at the centre of the story as Danny, who has just split from his wife and moved back in with his cantankerous father Harold (Dustin Hoffman) and his loveably goofy fourth wife Maureen (Emma Thompson). Everyone in this family has artistic tendencies, including Danny, his sister Jean (Elizabeth Marvel) and Danny's 18-year-old daughter Eliza (Grace Van Patten), who is heading off to university to study film. And then there's younger half-brother Matthew (Ben Stiller), who abandoned art to become a wealthy businessman in Los Angeles. Danny and Jean have always felt ignored in Matthew's presence, and this comes out into the open when they all gather to help take care of Harold when he ends up in hospital.

Brad's Status Trailer

Not everyone gets to the place they thought they would get to in life. Nothing rings more true than that for Brad Sloan (Ben Stiller). His college friends have all gone on to bigger and better things; Craig Fisher (Michael Sheen) ended up in the White House, Jason Hatfield (Luke Wilson) formed his own hedge fund company and Billy Wearslter (Jemaine Clement) sold his business and got to retire at 40-years-old. Brad, meanwhile, put all his efforts into a non-profit venture - and that's exactly what he has to show for it. None of the luxury and wealth of his classmates, but he does have a son he's incredibly proud of.

Troy Sloan (Austin Abrams) is a talented musician who's smart enough to get into pretty much any college he chooses including Harvard. Brad takes him on a tour of colleges across the East Coast, and while he initially doesn't want to put too much pressure on Troy, he soon gets over-zealous by the prospect of Harvard that he can't stop himself from heaping advice onto his son who's anxious enough as it is. Brad just doesn't want Troy to end up struggling like he is, but he's going the wrong way about ensuring his success - especially when he bumps into one of his old friends and starts doubting his own successes (or lack thereof) in life.

'Brad's Status' is a comedy drama directed and written by Mike White ('School of Rock', 'The Good Girl', 'The Emoji Movie'). It was nominated for the Platform Prize at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released in theatres on September 15th 2017.

The Meyerowitz Stories New And Selected Trailer

Harold Meyerowitz (Dustin Hoffman) is a celebrated New York artist, whose quick-temper and filter-less conversation has left him estranged from his entire family. But when an event comes up celebrating his work at the Museum of Modern Art, they return to enjoy the experience with him. Of course, he's a particularly embarrassing person to spend time with, given that he's never short of opinions or afraid to speak his mind and thus ends up coming across as the rudest person in the room at any public event.

Matthew Meyerowitz (Ben Stiller) is his diplomatic son, who has actually had a piece of Harold's art named after him, but there is also his less successful son Danny (Adam Sandler) and his awkward daughter Jean (Elizabeth Marvel), and all of them want to make the most out of their rare time with their father and his alcohol-loving wife Maureen (Emma Thompson).

It's particularly important for Danny to establish some kind of bond again, as his daughter Eliza (Grace Van Patten) is about to move away to college; he's proud, of course, because he was never able to get through college himself, but it's forcing him to release that the time he has left with his father is important.

Why Him? Review

Good

Writer-director John Hamburg continues to recycle the formula that made his first hit Meet the Parents so wildly popular, as this comedy pits two very different men against each other. And while it's never terribly clever, at least James Franco and Bryan Cranston are imaginatively cast as opposite forces. So audiences in search of escapism will find plenty to chuckle at as things spiral ludicrously out of control.

Cranston plays Ned, who travels with his wife Barb (the fabulous Megan Mullally) and teen son Scotty (Griffin Gluck) to Silicon Valley to spend the holidays with older daughter Steph (Zooey Deutch) and meet her boyfriend Laird (Franco). What they don't know is that Laird is an internet millionaire with absolutely no filter in how he interacts with people. Almost everything he says is inappropriate, and yet it's so honest that it's disarming. Still, Ned and Barb aren't too happy that their daughter is so serious about dating this guy. And with the help of his sidekick Gustav (Keegan-Michael Key), Laird goes completely over-the-top to impress them.

Much of the humour is of the gross-out variety, with the main running gag centring on an actual toilet. But at least the jokes aren't about embarrassment this time; they're about the clash between people who prefer to keep their true feelings bottled up inside and someone who can't help but be real, despite the fact that he shocks everyone he meets. This makes each person a little more complex than expected, and gives the actors some texture to work with, even though the script never bothers to even crack the surface. And while Cranston and Franco have more obvious comedy set-pieces to contend with, the film is stolen by Mullally and Key in roles that are more subtly hilarious and broadly amusing, respectively.

Christine Taylor Justin Bieber Penelope Cruz

The sequel to the 2001comedy is due out in February.

The first teaser trailer for Zoolander 2 has leaked online and let’s just say it’s really, really good-looking. In the two minute clip we're taken on a dark journey inside the mind of male model Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) who also poses one of life’s greatest questions, “If God exists, then why did he make ugly people?”

Ben Stiller is reprising his role as the male model in Zoolander 2.

The trailer is narrated by a Stephen Hawking-esque voiceover who charts the history of the universe and mankind, before going deep inside the brain of Derek. Inside the model’s mind there many special nods to the first film for fans to look out for including a wind-up toy monkey, a mer-man and a dictionary definition of ‘eugoogly’.
