Kendrick Lamar - The Heart Part 5 Music Video

  • 10 May 2022

Ahead of the release of his new album - 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers', Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar has shared his new single - 'The Heart Part 5' together with a deep fake video. The multi-talented 'HUMBLE' artist, who's about to drop his last album for Top Dawg Entertainment on May 13th, last released a track as the lead artist way back in 2018.

In the interim Lamar has appeared alongside Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige at this year's Pepsi Super Bowl LVI halftime show back in February, made a huge contribution to the 'Black Panther' soundtrack, collaborated with SZA, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, and Pharrell Williams and launched his own PGLang company, "which is described as a multilingual, artist-friendly service company".

'The Heart Part 5' is expected to be the lead track from Lamar's long awaited follow up to his 2017 album - 'DAMN'. Kendrick's fifth full length studio album arrives a full five years and one month after his last and it has a lot to live up to. 'DAMN' was the first recording that was neither Jazz or classical to earn a Pulitzer Prize.

The video for Kendrick's new single, directed by Dave Free & Kendrick Lamar, and produced by Lamar's new venture PGLang and Project3 in collaboration with DEEP VOODOO, uses deep fake techniques to feature various infamous U.S celebrities including Kanye West, Jussie Smollett, OJ Simpson, Nipsey Hussle and Will Smith.

Lamar's biting social commentary is in full swing on his latest track as he raps - "I come from a generation of pain, where murder is minor, Rebellious and Margielas'll chip you for designer, Belt buckles and clout, overzealous if prone to violence, Make the wrong turn, be it will or the wheel alignment, Residue burned, mist of the inner-city, Miscommunication to keep homi' detective busy, No protection is risky, Desensitized, I vandalized pain, covered up and camouflaged".

'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers' will be released on May 13th via Top Dawg Entertainment.
