Fat Tony Engaged To Boyfriend Stavros Agapiou After Central Park Proposal: ‘When You Find Real Happiness Never Let It Go!’
Fat Tony is engaged to his partner Stavros Agapiou.
The 56-year-old DJ – born Tony Marnach – whose famous friends include supermodel Kate Moss, stunned his creative director boyfriend, 30, by getting down on one knee and proposing during a recent trip the pair took to New York.
He posted a clip on Instagram showing the moment, and looked overjoyed when Stavros said “Yes” in front of a fountain in Central Park.
Tony captioned the video, on which he added an exploding fireworks graphic: “When you find real happiness in life never let it go today I can truly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
“I went to Central Park to this magical fountain and asked the man that has changed my life in so many ways and helped show me that I can be loved and how too love to marry me and make me complete and he said YES I’m so overwhelmed with joy.”
Stavros also posted a snap of the pair in bed online and captioned it: “Sunrise in bed with the FIANCÉ.”
Among the couple’s famous friends who flooded their social media accounts with well wishes were singer Paloma Faith, 42, who said: “Congratulations to you both you make me sick.”
Presenter Alison Hammond, 48, added: “Congratulations such wonderful news.”
Earlier this year, Tony revealed he was waiting for clearance from the Qatar government for him and his boyfriend, who are both HIV positive, to go to the country where it is illegal to enter if you have the virus.
They wanted to go to the country, which has been slammed over its human rights record, to support trans rights.
Tony said: “I have been waiting for clearance from the Qatar government, for me and my boyfriend, who are both HIV positive, to go to a country where it is illegal to be HIV positive.
“I have been very vocal about members of my community going to Qatar and promoting it with everything that's going on in the world and the human rights atrocities.
“I’ve got ‘Hypocrite’ tattooed on my hand for a reason. I can very well say this stuff, but I’m going to Qatar later this year to experience it first hand.
“Not in five-star hotels, but with members of the trans community and those who can’t express who they are because of fear.”
Tony has also opened up about giving up drugs and alcohol nearly 17 years ago.
