I'll Be In Recovery For The Rest Of My Life, Says Jeremy Renner
Jeremy Renner accepts that he'll be in recovery for the "rest of [his] life".
The 53-year-old actor was seriously injured in a snowplow accident in January 2023, and while he's made an impressive recovery so far, Jeremy accepts that his life has been changed forever.
The Hollywood star - who is best-known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - told PEOPLE: "I had to accept it for the rest of my life. There'll be nothing normal or as it was prior to the accident.
"By the way, I'm okay with that. It's making my life better. I'm healthier because of it.
"I get to focus more on my health and well-being than I ever did before because I have to. Recovery will be until I'm out of this old hot mess of a body. It was a way for me to really accept that it is going to be forever."
Jeremy was injured when he tried to remove a stranded family member's car from the snow near his home.
The 'Hurt Locker' star broke more than 30 bones in the accident, when was struck by a snowplough and left "completely crushed" by the vehicle.
He subsequently wrote on Instagram: "Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love [heart emoji] I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I …. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens . Love and blessings to you all. (sic)"
