Hit Series 'The Originals' Cast Today

Hit supernatural drama 'The Originals' aired from 2013 to 2018, as a spin-off the popular CW series 'The Vampire Diaries'.

Set in New Orleans, it followed the Mikaelson family— with original vampires Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) - and delved into their complex relationships, power struggles and their quest for redemption.

The show went on to spawn a sequel series in ‘Legacies’, which ran from 2018 until 2022, and saw several stars from 'The Originals' and 'The Vampire Diaries' reprise their roles.

Many of the stars of the show continue to thrive in the entertainment industry today and fans are still desperate to watch episodes of 'The Originals' now.

Now that it has been over six years since the series ended here’s the latest on where the main cast of 'The Originals' is today…

Joseph Morgan

Joseph Morgan starred as Niklaus Mikaelson in the show and 'The Vampire Diaries' and has gone on to have an illustrious showbiz career.

The 43-year-old actor has appeared in shows like Peacock’s 2020 sci-fi series ‘Brave New Worlds’, HBO’s ’Titans’ and Paramount’s ‘Halo’.

Morgan wed Persia White in July 2014 after meeting her on the set of ‘The Vampire Diaries’.

Daniel Gillies

Danile Gillies has continued working in TV since parting ways with ‘The Originals’.

The 48-year-old actor - who played Elijah Mikaelson on the show - went on to appear in ‘Virgin River’ in 2019 and 2021’s ‘The Newsreader’.

Gillies also appeared in the sci-fi movie ‘Project: Rainfall’ and the horror flick ‘Coming Home in the Dark’.

In 2019, the actor announced he had split from his then-wife Rachael Leigh Cook - with whom he has 11-year-old daughter Charlotte and nine-year-old son Theodore - before divorcing a year later.

In 2021, Gillies revealed he was in a relationship with cello player Julia Misaki.

Claire Holt

While maintaining a successful acting career, Holt - who played Rebekah Mikaelson in 'The Originals' - also branched out into other business ventures.

Holt, 36, had roles in movies such as ‘A Violent Separation’ and ‘The Divorce Party’ in 2019, and also briefly appeared in the fourth season of ‘Legacies’ - the sequel show to ‘The Originals’.

Then in 2021, the actress became a swimwear designer and collaborated with Andie Swim on The Claire Holt Collection.

Charles Michael Davis

Charles Michael Davis has managed to keep himself busy since ‘The Originals’ came to an end.

The 39-year-old actor - who played Marcel Gerard on the programme - appeared in ‘NCIS: New Orleans’, ‘Younger’ and ‘For the People’.

He also landed some roles for the big screen including ‘No Sleep ’Til Christmas’ and ‘Same Time, Next Christmas’.

Davis also cameoed in ‘Legacies’.
