Alexis Bledel is an American actor possibly best known for her role in 'Gilmore Girls'.

Childhood: Alexis Bledel was born in Houston, Texas. Her parents are flight attendant Nanette and Argentina-born Martin Bledel. Her mother was also raised in Latin America and so Alexis was raised in a Spanish-speaking household, with English as her second language. She attended Catholic St. Agnes Academy as well as Baptist and Lutheran schools. She was very shy as a child and was encouraged to join a community theatre to overcome it. She was later scouted by a modelling agency subsequently went to Page Parkes Center for Modeling and Acting. She later attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Acting career: Alexis Bledel made her TV debut opposite Lauren Graham in the series 'Gilmore Girls' from 2000 to 2007. Her first film role was in the fantasy flick 'Tuck Everlasting' in 2002 which also starred Ben Kingsley, William Hurt and Sissy Spacek. In 2005, she starred in 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' (and its sequel in 2008) and played a prostitute in 'Sin City' as part of an all-star cast including Jessica Alba, Benicio del Toro, Rutger Hauer, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis and Elijah Wood. In 2006, she appeared in 'I'm Reed Fish' opposite Jay Baruchel. In 2009, she appeared alongside Jane Lynch, Michael Keaton, and Carol Burnett in 'Post Grad'. She also starred in the romcom 'The Good Guy' opposite Scott Porter and Bryan Greenberg and made a guest appearance in the series 'ER'. In 2011, she was in Robert Redford's 'The Conspirator' with James McAvoy. She has also made an appearance in a Less Than Jake music video.

Other career ventures: Alexis Bledel signed a contract with IMG modelling in 2009.

Personal life: Alexis Bledel was in a relationship with Milo Ventimiglia between 2002 and 2006. She is currently engaged to Vincent Kartheiser who she began dating in 2012.

The cult show creator has been speaking about the success of four specials earlier this year

Cult hit show The Gilmore Girls returned to our screens via Netflix late last year for four much-hyped 90 minute-long episodes. The sitcom - which originally finished airing in 2007 - was met with praise for the Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life Of and now, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, has revealed what it would take to revive the show once again.

Lauren Graham revived the role of Lorelai Gilmore late last year

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sherman- Palladino said there would need to be an "open bar" as well as the "right" story and format.

One of those nominations went to former Gilmore Girls’ actress Alexis Bledel who has been congratulated by her former on-screen mum, Lauren Graham.

'Gilmore Girls' Is Going Global For Netflix Revival

The show will be making a comeback on the streaming service later this year.

While fans eagerly await the debut of Netflix’s ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival, due out later this year, the streaming service will be keeping them busy. From July 1st all seven seasons of the show, which originally aired on The WB and The CW networks, will be available to stream on Netflix worldwide.

The announcement was made by star Lauren Graham, who showed off her linguistic skills before telling fans: "You may have heard new episodes of 'Gilmore Girls' are coming to Netflix later this year. We can't wait.”

Could streaming service Netflix be about to make the dreams of ‘Gilmour Girls’ fans come true, finally?

Streaming service Netflix is reportedly in negotiations to revive beloved series ‘Gilmour Girls’, reuniting creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and original stars, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Graham and Bledel played mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore on the popular WB drama, from 2000-2007.

The Tron: Legacy actor had been reportedly hand-picked by the author herself to play the 27 year-old billionaire with a fetish for domination. However, the actor and boyfriend of Kirsten Dunst passed up on the opportunity to become the face of the biggest franchise since the series. A source speaking to US Magazine explained that "Doing a possible trilogy was too big a commitment, and producers wouldn't let him do just one film."
