Scott Weiland has responded to his sudden and unexplained termination from the grunge band Stone Temple Pilots.

The grunge band Stone Temple Pilots have made some changes to the lineup – well, one big one, to be exact – terminating frontman Scott Weiland.

And if that term sounds somewhat matter-of-fact to you, well that’s because it is. The news came in the form of a conspicuously brief announcement on Wednesday – eleven words to be exact. No reason was given behind bassist Robert DeLeo, guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz’s decision to kick out Weiland. The change comes after the band’s fairly recent reunion in 2008. Before this, during the time apart, Weiland performed with Velvet Revolver, alongside former members of Guns’n’Roses. The vocalist is far from lacking any other options at this point. In fact, he is just about to embark on a solo US tour, starting Friday in Flint Michigan. However, in light of the firing, Weiland certainly didn’t hide his confusion.
