Amy Lee is pregnant.

The Evanescence rocker and her husband, therapist Josh Hartzler, are expecting their first child together, she announced on twitter at the weekend.

She wrote: ''Ok I can't keep it a secret anymore-I've been working on a very special new project for 2014-A BABY!

''Josh and I are expecting! I'm so happy! (sic)''

It is unclear when the 'Bring Me To Life' hitmaker is due to give birth, or whether she knows the gender of her baby.

Among the first to congratulate the 32-year-old star was Garbage singer Shirley Manson.

She tweeted: ''Congratulations lil momma in waiting. So happy for you! Lots of showbiz kisses into the air! But really...that's so cool.''

The 'My Immortal' singer's spouse is looking after her and is happy to go shopping for the food she craves even in bad weather.

She tweeted: ''Just watched my husband walk off in a foot of driving snow to go to the store and get me ingredients to make chowder and cake. ''

Amy and Josh got engaged in January 2007 and married four months later.
