Amy SchumerTammy Pescatelli has apologised to Amy Schumer for accusing her of joke stealing.

“I said what I said, and it is probably, you know, parallel thinking. That does happen. I’m no genius on that,” Pescatelli said. “I’m not breaking any new ground, as I’ve witnessed time and time again during my shows and especially on the Internet over the past couple days.”

“What you guys do know about me is that I’m a loyal friend…I was the last to the party and drank the most and was the loudest. I probably should have just stayed out of it and kept my mouth shut. I shouldn’t have accused somebody.”

Pescatelli added that while she believes Schumer’s jokes and those by herself and fellow comedians Kathleen Madigan and Wendy Liebman were too similar to write off completely as coincidence, she doesn't blame Schumer.

"You do have to admit that the girl has had so much going on, and we do know that when you have all those things, you do have to employ writers.” However Pescatelli then apologised, saying: “I went too deep. It went too far, and for that I’m super apologetic…She has every right to be mad.”

Earlier this week Schumer was accused of joke stealing, after a now deleted video appeared online comparing her material to that of other female comedians. On Opie with Jim Norton on Wednesday Schumer addressing the allegations and even offered to take a polygraph test.
