Amy Smart has announced her engagement to her boyfriend Carter Oosterhouse.
Amy Smart, star of Road Trip and The Butterfly Effect, told US magazine that the news was "very new" and "very exciting." The couple have had somewhat of a whirlwind romance after meeting in November 2010 at a green charity event. Oosterhouse is a presenter on HGTV and fronts shows such as Carter Can and the eco-friendly Red Hot and Green, the show which redecorates houses using environmentally friendly designs.
Smart had previously been engaged to fellow actor Branden Williams. The couple had been together 15 years but broke off the engagement in 2008.
Smart was photographed wearing her impressive engagement ring following the announcement, at the Earth Day Body Shop event in NYC. "They are perfect for each other," a source told Us. "Here are two wholesome, kind, sweet Midwestern types. Neither has sold out and gone Hollywood."
The news comes shortly after Smart's best friend and college roommate, Ali Larter, gave birth to her first son, Theodore, in December with Husband Hayes MACarthur.
Smart will have a busy schedule this year as well as planning her wedding; she has just completed filming on 2 two projects: 12 Dates of Christmas and House of the Rising Sun.
