Amy Smart married fellow actor Carter Oosterhouse on Saturday night (10.11.2011) in his hometown of Traverse City, Michigan.
"We feel so excited and blessed to celebrate this happy day with our family and friends" said Smart speaking to Us magazine. The couple married with 215 guests in attendance and the 35-year-old actress was also delighted to marry in the Michigan City adding "He's from there and my parents live there, so it's been my second home since I was very young." The couple by chance at an environmental charity event in November 2010 and instantly hit it off according to a source speaking to Us magazine "He's an eco-carpenter; Amy drives a hybrid and is the greenest girl I know. They are perfect for each other. Here are two wholesome, kind, sweet Midwestern types. Neither has sold out and gone Hollywood."
Smart was born in Topanga, California and began her career in front of the lens as a fashion model working in Italy, France and Mexico. However, her first acting role was in 1996 when she appeared in the movie Campfire Tales. After a series of small roles she appeared in Varsity Blues, the story of a small town high school football team and their overbearing coach through the course of a season. Her career began to grow and later appeared in college comedy Road Trip as well as starring opposite Ashton Kutcher in The Butterfly Effect. She is currently filming supernatural thriller, Glimmer, about a girl who discovers a mysterious shinning figure at the bottom of a lake.
