Andrea Riseborough found Tom Cruise ''dedicated'' and ''enthusiastic'' on the set of 'Oblivion'.

The 31-year-old British actress stars opposite the Hollywood icon in the sci-fi film - due for release in April - and said he was very approachable and invested his emotions into the film-making process.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: ''He's just a very caring, dedicated, enthusiastic, funny, warm person. He cares so much about the characters relationship and the relationship between my character [Victoria] and [his character] Jack.

''We worked with [director] Joe [Kosinski] in the beginning for such a long time to make it so that we can all identify with [the characters], and the happiness and pain that goes along with any relationship.''

The big budget action thriller is the 'Shadow Dancer' star's first foray into Hollywood blockbusters, but the BAFTA-nominated actress quickly found her feet, saying there are similarities between big productions and the smaller budget films she is used to making.

She added: ''They are so different in the sense that there are so many more people. When I filmed 'Oblivion' or 'Hidden' there were so many more people. But really the essence of what you're doing, if you're working with great people on a project, is so similar in the sense that you're all looking for the truth at the end of the day and trying to make a [scene] as genuine as possible.''

Andrea is nominated for the EE Rising Star Award at the 2013 British Academy Film Awards, alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Suraj Sharma, Juno Temple and Alicia Vikander.

Voting is now open to the public at ee.co.uk/bafta and the winner will be announced at the BAFTA ceremony on Sunday February 10, 2013.
