Two more Amazing Spiderman films are already slated for 2016 and 2018 but now Entertainment Weekly report there will be a further two spin-off films focussing on the supervillains Venom and the Sinister Six. The six villains in question, according to comic book lore, were organised by Dr Octopus who contacted every villain who had been in thwarted by Spiderman. No one's sure of the exact make-up of the six yet (there's been numerous Sinister Six's throughout the ages) but we'll certainly be introduced to them at the end of the upcoming The Amazing Spiderman film.

Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal confirmed the news to EW, stating: "at the tail end of this movie we set up some of the other characters that will probably end up being in the Sinister Six. We're going forward on all fronts."

Everyone loves a good villain - Disney has devoted a whole film to Maleficent - so it's unsurprising although certainly radical that supervillains are becoming the focus of a spin-off. As Amazing Spiderman producer, Matt Tolmach, points out "Great villains are the characters you remember. There's a lot of us in those people. It's hard to identify with people who are good all the time."
