'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Promises Peter Parker's "Greatest Battle" Yet.

Jamie Foxx's lightning-fast Electro is the stuff of nightmares as he electrocutes Times Square in one battle scene whilst the huge, armoured Rhino is equally formidable. The new movie will also see Peter Parker's friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) turn against him as he takes on the role of the wicked and unstoppable Green Goblin.

We see fireballs, plane crashes, and terrifying falls and we hear Electro's ominous words: "You wanted to be the hero, now you gotta pay the price" as he zaps out millions of volts of devastating electric power. "Nothing is what I thought it was," we hear Peter say as Spidey uses every ounce of his super powers to try to defeat the new and menacing influx of baddies.

Scary: Jamie Foxx Is Relentless As Electro.

"This is bigger than you, Peter," worries Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey before we see her and Peter falling through the air and crashing through a glass roof. Before we find out if the pair survive, the words "See what happens next" flash on the screen, reminding fans to keep an eye out for the full trailer when it lands at Sunday's Super Bowl.

Fans Are Left Contemplating Whether Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy Will Be In The Next Spider-Man Movie.

The last scene in particular has set fans' imaginations racing as it echoes a particularly sinister event from the original stories. If the movie is set to follow the comic books as faithfully as the cast allege, then the 'Death of Gwen Stacy' arc is likely to form part of the new film.

There's Too Many Bad-Guys To Handle In The New Spider-Man Movie.

Whilst Gwen is most definitely alive in the quick clip we see at the end of the trailer, it's unclear what the next few scenes in the movie will hold. Emma Stone will have probably completed her commitment to the franchise after two movies, so it's likely the in-demand actress will make her exit in such a dramatic way.
