'The Walking Dead' has left us feeling a little silly with the mid-season 6 premiere 'No Way Out'. We were feeling pretty tense after the 4-minute clip released prior to the showing which saw Abraham, Sasha and Daryl confronted by some armed bandits, but we can finally breathe a sigh of relief having seen that moment's unlikely resolution.

If you didn't see the clip, here's a quick recap. Daryl (Norman Reedus), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) are on their way to Alexandria when a bunch of bikers known as The Saviors intercept them and demand they hand over their weapons - and, indeed, any other supplies they may have - claiming that everything now belongs to the mysterious Negan. They truly looked defeated but, as usual, Daryl had some tricks up his sleeve.

Love Actually is considered one of the most romantic films of all time and the scene where Andrew Lincoln’s character confesses his love for Keira Knightley is one of the movie’s most memorable moments. But 12 years on, Lincoln might just have said what we’ve all been secretly thinking, that his character is actually a bit of a stalker.

Even Andrew Lincoln thinks his Love Actually character was a bit of a stalker.

Speaking about his character Mark, Lincoln told The Wrap: “He is a stalker. That was my question to Richard Curtis, ‘Do you not think we’re sort of borderline stalker territory here?’ And he said, ‘No, no. Not with you playing it, darling. You’ll be alright.’”

It looks like that's the end of Alexandria as the eighth episode of 'The Walking Dead' - entitled 'Start To Finish' - wraps up the first half of season six and the final adventures of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company for the year.

Circumstances surrounding Glenn's death are still up in the air

It seemed Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang had finally reached a safe haven at the beginning of the series in the form of Alexandria, but now the barricades have broken on that plan when the Wolves showed up and wrecked everything. They can't actually leave Alexandria without encountering the walkers and there's no word on what's happened to Glenn and the other members of his group. Episode four gave us some background on Morgan's (Lennie James) involvement in the whole series, but this is the first time since October that we've received an update on these troops' lives.

Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead featured one of the most gruesome scenes of the entire series so far. Twitter sparked into life after Gareth (Andrew J. West), leader of Terminus, forced Lawrence Gilliard Jr's Bob to watch as he took a bite out of his newly amputated, charred leg.

The Walking Dead has reached the midway point of season four and after being reunited with old foes and faced with new threats from within and outside the prison walls, the midseason finale did hold a lot of promise. When it aired on AMC last night, on Sunday, 1 December, the coming together of Rick Grimes and our new friend Brian Heriot, AKA our old enemy The Governor, did not disappoint.

Not everyone will make it to the end

Heriot, as he goes by now, has assumed the position as alpha dog of another collection of people, people in desperate need of a leader, and he has plans for war. He leads them with a rallying call, preaching to the camp, “The people who destroyed the camp I was in with Martinez, they live in a prison… We could live there,” before showing off his spoils from last week; a captured Michonne and Hershel, currently being held hostage. Tara is the only one who seems surprised by this, did he capture two people on his lonesome, with no help or weaponry? But the Gov is able to feed her some cock and bull story about how he happened to bump into them and got lucky. Whatever he's feeding the camp, Michonne and Hershel could be key to gaining access to the prison, and without bloodshed perhaps too.

David Morrissey has won more than his fair share of fans for playing everyone's favorite character to hate on AMC's The Walking Dead. Last week, in the dying seconds of episode five (season four), we got our first glimpse of the returning Gov. and this week the entire episode was dedicated to the time he's spent between now and the end of season three, but we're still no closer to knowing what he wants.

Sitting down to speak with Rolling Stone, Morrissey digressed on what his character has been through and what he might want now that he is back in the frame in the series. Although unwilling to give too much away, Morrissey did give indications - similar to what we saw in last night's episode - that The Gov. may return as a changed man.

The Walking Dead is back on track thanks to 'Internment'

The first thing we notice in 'Internment' is just how many sick people are draining the prisons' supplies from within the quarantine zone. With their numbers rising quick, its up to Hershel to work over time and ensure that he can save as many people as possible. But even for a guy with the patience of a saint, his wits are being run thin as the casualty numbers continue to rise and their conditions only seem to get worse. When we see our first flu-caused fatality die in Glenn's care, all whilst Glenn is having a coughing fit, we get to see just how serious things are. Things got even more worse when the deceased flu victims began to rewake as zombies (naturally) and climbed from their cells into the sick bay, making more zombies and placing Hershel and Glenn in grave danger.

Season four is well under way now

When we first met Carol, she was a frightened, deer in the headlights-type of girl whose survival often came into question. By the time she was cast out of the prison by Rick, she had developed into someone numb to violence or fear, someone willing to do what was needed when faced with danger. We found out this week that she didn't give a second thought to murdering Karen or David, as she told Rick that she did what she believed was essential for the well-being of the rest of the community.

The Woodbury people are still hemmed in at the prison and we see Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the yard tending to his crops, zombies clawing at him from the other side of the gate. Finding a gun in the ground during his work, he tosses it aside like yesterday's newspaper. Still the same old Grimes. When Carl (Chandler Riggs) comes out to see his dad, who is this time tending to the prison yard pigs farm, Rick warns him not to name the pigs (Carl notices that "Violet" looks sick) as they are food.

The new series will be set in another pocked of TWD universe, with completely separate characters and storylines. It looks like the new series will not feature everyone's favorite Deputy Rick Grimes.

The as of yet unnamed project is geared for a 2015 premiere, but besides this, there has been precious little information released by AMC and Kirkman himself. The writer/executive producer expressed his excitement about the new creative endeavor in a statement, quoted by Newsarama.

It’s no secret that the actor, who rose to prominence playing Sheriff Rick Grimes on AMC’s gory, but entertaining The Walking Dead, doesn’t watch the show. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he explained exactly why that is. “The original reason is the fact that I don’t actually enjoy looking at myself,” Lincoln said.

While filming might be the best bit, Lincoln has mostly been busy with promotion lately.

He continued, explaining that he can’t stop himself from criticizing all the little pieces that could have been done differently – like most great artists, probably.

There’s a lot of brilliant TV hitting our screens very soon; we’re a lucky bunch. With Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire and The Walking Dead all returning in August, September and October, it promises to be a monumental Fall for TV dramas.

Master of the romantic comedy genre, Richard Curtis, who helped bring us some of Britain's best-loved romance films of the last three decades has said that he thinks upcoming film About Time will be his last.

The thrice BAFTA-winning, Oscar-nominated director has tole Empire magazine, as reported by The Independent, that "[About Time] probably will be the last film I will direct." The 56 year-old filmmaker admitted he himself wasn't sure why he wanted to bow out, saying "I don't know. Just a feeling...just a feeling. It feels like a summing-up to me. We'll see how things turn out."

In the extended Walking Dead Season 4 trailer, let loose at Comic-Con 2013, we see a more hardened version of the survivors we’ve come to know and love. And as David Morrissey explained to io9, there’s a whole new threat to be wary of. From the trailer, we can deduce that the group (or probably Rick) decided that staying at the prison was best; they’ve built a farm and even have little piglets.

The opening scene sees Daryl using all his experience. “Just give it another second,” he says knowingly, presumably drawing walkers to him so they can loot wherever they’re residing. But how long can this last? Eventually, and we can only assume this is The Governor’s work, the group’s safety is compromised by someone feeding walkers near the gates, and attacking cell blocks.

AMC’s The Walking Dead resumes with its fourth season premiere on October 13 and everyone involved with the post-apocalyptic show has been promising a bigger, darker storyline than any of the ones we’ve seen before – at least on-screen. Those expectations were confirmed during the Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con, as executive producer Robert Kirkman and brand new showrunner Scott Gimple, not only announced the show’s return date for Season 4, but also teased (very sparingly) some of the upcoming action. Kirkman, who also wrote and created the original comic book, has been trying to juggle the two separate timelines and keep them both thrilling for fans, since the show first launched. According to the L.A. Times, he explained at the panel that he tries to keep the show, which is about two years behind on the timeline from the comic book story, fresh, exciting and unpredictable, so that even avid followers of the original Walking Dead story can find excitement in the adaptation.

Rick Grimes' group is once again under threat, from within this time.

While we are doing the television show and the comic book concurrently, the characters that are in the comic book series have existed, in some cases, one or two years on the timeline more than the characters from the television show," he said in an interview at Comic-Con. "So the Rick Grimes in the comic book is vastly different from the Rick Grimes in the television show. It's very easy to keep them both separate,” he said at Comic-Con for USA Today.

For many, season three of The Walking Dead ended disappointingly. Early threats of ‘war is coming’ died down and with a damp squib, the run petered out with many of the conflicts and plot lines intact. Perfect for those who enjoy the moody exchanges between Rick and The Governor, but the season’s denouement did little for the show’s progression.

It wouldn’t be fair to judge season three entirely on its own merits, though – season four is looking like it’ll have a profound effect on peoples’ opinions on the last.

The mid-season finale of the zombie thriller didn’t disappoint in terms of ratings, much like the previous episodes before it. The studio has also announced that showrunner Glen Mazzara is to leave the show

The Walking Dead midseason finale on Sunday (Dec 2, 2012) further enforced AMC's popular zombie drama/thriller as one of the most successful shows on television today, with a massive 10.5 million viewers tuning in, only to be left with an un-dead like appetite for more. 

This might not mean much to you 18-49 year-olds, but you; you're part of a key demographic. TV networks love you, and 6.9m of you have been watching The Walking Dead, which makes them very happy. We can't imagine many 50 year olds watching the sometimes gruesome drama, so we can only surmise that you under 18's are filling up on some pretty dark stuff. The impressive figures from Sunday's cliff-hanger were slightly less than October's third-season premiere but up 58 percent compared with season two's midseason finale. In fact, October's premiere scored 10.9 million total viewers, making it the highest-rated episode in series history, up more than 50 percent from its record-breaking season two premiere. 

"Representing both the studio and the network as AMC does on this project, I speak for so many when I say 'thank you and congratulations' to everyone involved," AMC presidentCharlie Collier said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "The records that The Walking Dead shattered today represent an enormous achievement of which we are so proud."

Sunday night's episode of 'The Walking Dead' was entitled 'Sick' - so we pretty much knew what we were in for. The second instalment of season three picked up after the premiere's abrupt cliff-hanger that saw Hershel bitten by a zombie, leading Rick (Andrew Lincoln) to perform an amateur leg amputation on the floor of the prison cafeteria. Nice.

In the concluding moments of that episode, the group discovered five mysterious figures hiding in the back of the room: more survivors. With both parties understandably cautious, guns were drawn, though Rick managed to calm the situation and convince the survivors that there are no hospitals, no cell phones and no national guard to help. Though it was a thrilling episode, we were left a little deflated by the lack of David Morrissey. The British star has signed on to play The Governor in the new series (a character considered one of the greatest comic book villains of all time) though is yet to appear. Show creator Robert Kirkman attempted to clear up the situation when speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, explaining, "People know that he's coming and that's something that's going to cause quite a bit of tension as viewers watch the episodes: When is he appearing, when is this going to happen? We've had a lot of fun teasing that and delaying that reveal but I will say we're not going to be torturing people for too long."

Though we're still waiting on episode two's ratings; the season premiere of The Walking Dead delivered a phenomenal 10.9 million viewers.

After such favourable preview responses, it's no surprise that Walking Dead season 3 absolutely smashed rating records, beating itself last year - ratings for which rose 50% on 2011 - and all other premieres of this fall so far. According to E!Online the total number of viewers, including the later showing at 12am, rose to a high of 15.2million.

Charlie Collier, president of the network that broadcasts The Walking Dead - starring Andrew Lincoln, said: "Thank you to the fans for making The Walking Dead such a tremendous success. We are honored and humbled that television's largest adult audience resides on AMC." He spoke of all the hard work that goes into making something so successful, saying: "So many people on both sides of the camera worked tirelessly on this project, and I thank and congratulate each of them for their amazing contribution.”

Even with such an extraordinary number of people tuning in, there could have been more yet. Sadly Dish Network, an American cable TV provider, is embroiled with an ongoing dispute with AMC and so none of Dish's subscribers could check in at all. AMC tried to make it available to stream online for Dish subscribers, but the site crashed due to an overwhelming rate of traffic.

The season premiere of "The Walking Dead" comes with a number of surprises, as Rick Grimes' group of survivors battle their way into an old maximum security prison and clear it out to set up camp inside. The gang have to fight an army of zombies to get through the prison yard. They separate into teams, with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) sniping out the walkers, Rick running to close the gates and cut off their entrance and the rest of the group fighting from behind the fences. Gore ensues, in typical series fashion. The fight is a tense one, but the gang manage to secure the prison yard in the end. There's no time to rest though, as the rest of the prison still awaits, supposedly holding supplies of food, ammo and medicine, oh goodie! In a twist that comes as no surprise to fans of the original comics, the walkers aren't the only challenge the survivors have to face in this episode.

The episode also features an appearance by the mystery hunter, who saved Andrea and is seen again kicking some serious zombie tail.

Meanwhile, Rick's group go forth to secure a larger area of the prison. They get separated by a heard of walkers at one point, leaving Maggie and Glenn all alone to protect themselves. Finally, the team manage to come back together, but not before Hershel gets himself bitten by what he thought was a dead body. The episode's final twist comes in the form of Rick chopping off Hershel's leg to save him from infection. Whether or not Hershel will survive, still remains to be seen in next week's episode.

The Walking Dead is readying itself for series 3, which will hit screens later this month, and one thing is for sure is that there wont be any shortage of gore, guts and glory. So, for those who still can't wait any longer even though the airing date is looming ever closer, here's a few mini-spoilers of what can be expected for season 3.

First off the bat, will be the introduction of Michonne, who was first brought in to the show during the shocking finale of series 2. Michonne, played by Danai Gurira, will have her character dissected and background laid out for all to see, and whether she will prove to be an ally to Jack and the rest of the survivors from series 1 will have to be seen.

Also on offer to potentially hinder the advances of Jack, played by Andrew Lincoln, and his band of merry men and women will be the mysterious Governor David Morrissey.
