Black Panther Trailer

Wakanda is one of Africa's biggest nations, it's still a third world country but it's also holder of many secrets. It's former ruler was King T'Chaka, the nation loved their King but he was killed by a bomb explosion, since then his son T'Challa is his rightful heir and  leader of the Black Panther tribe.

After returning to his country, T'Challa finds his country of Wakanda fragmented and in disarray; though his people are still loyal to the crown and his lineage, many people have seized the opportunity to take a piece of Wakanda for themselves - one of which T'Challa is all too familiar with.

Klaw is T'Challa's nemesis and is an incredibly intelligent yet despicably evil man who will go to any lengths to take what he thinks is his for the taking. Klaw wishes to take the Wakandan land for his own and is willing to destroy all its citizens if needs be.

London Has Fallen Review

Weak

It didn't seem possible, but somehow this action movie is even more preposterous than its predecessor, 2013's over-serious Olympus Has Fallen. Gerard Butler is back as a Secret Service agent protecting US President Aaron Eckhart, this time in a Taken-style scenario in which they leave America only to be immediately thrown into the middle of a massive terrorist attack. But the script is so lazy that there isn't a moment when any of this is remotely believable.

Events are put into motion when the British prime minister dies of a heart attack and security services only have a few days to lock down London so that the world's leaders can arrive for the funeral at St Paul's Cathedral. Mike (Butler) flies in with his boss Lynn (Bassett) on Air Force One, accompanying President Asher (Eckhart) and a platoon of bodyguards. Then just before the funeral, a carefully orchestrated series of bombings and gun attacks take out five heads of state. Of course, Mike and Lynn get Asher out of the fray, but an army of bad guys led by terror mastermind Kamran (Waleed Zuaiter) pursue them across the city. Back in Washington, Vice President Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) and the panicky cabinet (including Haley, Forster and Leo) watch all of this unfold on video screens and coordinates a counter-attack.

Even with four screenwriters, the movie makes no real sense. And worse than that, the filmmakers never take advantage of the story's potential or the heavy-hitting cast. There's a line about how all of London's landmarks have been destroyed, but the on-screen destruction is limited to just one of Westminster Abbey's towers. The depiction of world leaders is laughably cliched. And the award-winning actors have nothing to do but stand there looking worried. By contrast, Butler charges around shooting and stabbing everybody who moves in a display of shockingly brutal machismo. Eckhart is more believably reluctant to join in and dispense some violence, but of course he does.

Jessica Lange Angela Bassett Sarah Paulson Frances Conroy Michael Chiklis

More American Horror Story news heading your way! Finally, the hotly anticipated fourth season of the Emmy award-winning show has a setting and a vague plot outline, as revealed by showrunner Ryan Murphy. According to Murphy’s announcement from earlier this week that the new installment of the series would be set in early-1950s Florida. Jessica Lange, who has appeared in each of the series' first three seasons, will play a German ex-pat who runs a carnival sideshow.

Ryan Murphy
Showrunner Ryan Murphy came out this week with several AHS announcements.

The Shield’s Michael Chiklis has also been announced for a part in the upcoming season. Chiklis will play the former husband of Kathy Bates' character and the father of Evan Peters' character. In Fashion Terms, The Independent Spirit Awards Have The Oscars Beat

Lupita Nyong'o Angela Bassett Anna Kendrick Ming-Na Wen Jared Leto

Tonight is Oscar night, which means celebrities are expected to amp up the glamour and sport the latest in couture for their trips down the red carpet. But at last night’s Independent Spirit awards, they were free to let down their hair (or sport the messiest of pixie cuts as the trend seems to be) and spread their quirky fashion wings. If you’re into it (who isn’t?) read on for a rundown of the best looks.

Lupita Nyong'o, Independent Spirit Awards
Incidentally, Nyong'o's outfit matched her shiny new Supporting actress award.

We can’t start a fashion rundown this season without talking about Lupita Nyong’o. Look, the woman just knows how to rock an outfit – she’s worn bright colors and neutrals, gowns and short numbers, patterns, prints and solid colors and she looks flawless (resisting the temptation to hashtag it). This time it was a silk crocodile-printed Stella McCartney romper which she paired with grey suede Casadei heels, a Devi Kroell clutch, and Neil Lane jewels. We’ll stop listing designer names now, but just look at the outfit.

Lance Reddick Joins 'American Horror Story' In Most Predictable Plot Twist, Ever

Lance Reddick Angela Bassett

Ryan Murphy is making some exciting casting decisions on American Horror Story – first it was announced that Stevie Nicks would stop by for an appearance and now Lance Reddick has been added to the cast for the end of the season. You may know Reddick as Agent Phillip Broyles on Fox’s severely underrated sci-fi drama Fringe, in which case you’d already be familiar with his impressive acting skills. Reddick also played Lt. Cedric Daniels on HBO’s The Wire.

Lance Reddick,
Reddick might just be a perfect fit for AHS.

According to Entertainment Weekly, who broke the news, Reddick will join the show as a character, significant in the life of voodoo queen Marie Laveau (played by the ever-brilliant Angela Bassett) This is, of course, a very unpredictable twist, which noone could have seen coming. His character, who will pop up when the show returns in January, is called Papa Legba or (get ready for this) voodoo Satan. We’ll just let that sink in for a moment.

The third season of Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy's grisly horror series American Horror Story begun with a suitably bloodcurdling episode of enslavement and torture.

Of course, those who have in fact been exposed to the horror of season two 'AHS: Asylum' will be generally desensitised to all things petrifying, disgusting and not to mention controversial.

Olympus Has Fallen Review

Good

As this massive blockbuster thriller progresses, it's impossible not to become amused by how ridiculous its script becomes. Because the production values are first-rate, with mammoth set pieces, rampant destruction and elaborate stunt action. Meanwhile, the plot and dialog are comically inane, to the point where knowing audience members start giggling helplessly. And frankly, these viewers will enjoy the film a lot more than anyone who tries to take it seriously.

The film opens with a harrowing scene in which Secret Service agent Mike (Butler) saves the President (Echkart) from an accident in which the First Lady (Judd) dies. So he's transferred to office duty, and now only keeps an eye on the White House from across the road. But this is how he spots a fringe group of radical Koreans launch an assault. Led by nutcase Kang (Yune) they storm the Oval Office and take the President, Defense Secretary (Leo) and others hostage. As Mike tries to break them free, he stays in touch with the temporary command centre at the Pentagon, where top dogs (including Freeman, Forster and Bassett) attempt to keep the menace from spreading.

But of course, these officials are useless, and it'll be up to Mike to save the day on his own, Die Hard-style. Improbably, all of his old access codes and passwords still work, so he's able to sneak around the White House and take out the villains one by one. Butler turns out to be rather good in this kind of meathead role, combining Bruce Willis' wit with Sylvester Stallone's brawn. By contrast, everyone else pretty much just sits around saying ridiculous things like, "Oh my God, we're doomed!" At least Leo gets to show some backbone.

President of the United States Benjamin Asher has had enough trauma while being in office, and things are about to get a whole lot worse. In a terrifying turn of events, he is kidnapped by the aide who reveals himself to be Kang, a North Korean terrorist with little interest in negotiations. Trapped in the building as it becomes under siege by Kang's cohorts is Mike Banning; a former Secret Service agent who was discredited after making a mistake at the expense of a life while acting as a Presidential guard. Despite his being shunned from the government for his errors, with his insider knowledge he becomes the only hope they have of rescuing the President from a grisly fate.

This Means War Review

Very Good
A lively pace and a nicely warped sense of humour help make this paper-thin action-comedy a mindlessly enjoyable romp. Sure, the central romantic triangle never really gels, but the bromance subplot is rather sweet.

Frank (Pine) and Tuck (Hardy) are best-pal CIA operatives who wouldn't know the word "subtle" if it clubbed them over the head. After a chaotic case in Hong Kong, they're grounded back home in L.A., and both decide to use the down time to find women. The problem is that they find the same woman, Lauren (Witherspoon), who struggles to decide which one is right for her. Certainly her married best pal Trish (Handler) is no help. The bigger problem is that Frank and Tuck use the agency's resources to sabotage each other.

Notorious (2009) Review

Bad
In hindsight, the thought that a film could have ever done justice to Christopher George Latore Wallace, the Brooklyn-born rapper who went by the names Biggie Smalls and The Notorious B.I.G. until his untimely, unsolved murder in March 1997 at the age of 24, was a foolish if exceedingly hopeful fantasy. Would any director possibly be as good at balancing blunt criticism -- of masculinity, poverty, the music industry, the black experience in America and, perhaps most importantly, himself -- and have as big an ego as the late MC? Maybe Charles Burnett (Killer of Sheep) but his project never came to pass.

What we are presented instead is Notorious, a dutifully celebratory, profoundly inept retelling of the rise of Wallace from fatherless coke slinger on the corner of Fulton and St. James to the still-praised Shakespeare of hip-hop and best friend to that other don of hip-hop culture, Sean "Puffy" Combs. The film, which is directed by Soul Food helmer George Tillman Jr., opens on the infamous shooting of Wallace outside the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. As the first bullet is fired, the screen pauses and the voice of the deceased rapper kicks in and rewinds us back to the beginning of the tale with a 12-year-old Wallace, played by Christopher Jordan Wallace, the son of Wallace and R&B singer Faith Evans, sitting outside Queen of All Saints Middle School in Bed-Stuy, waiting for his mother Voletta (Angela Bassett).

Supernova Review

Weak
When near objects of immense gravity such as black holes, it is said that all things bend. Perhaps it is only fitting that a movie such as Supernova, which poses as sci-fi / mystery / horror and that takes place near an object of large gravity, should have the plot twists bent. Common sense tells us that if you bend something that is already bent it will either become more bent or straighten out. Supernova's plot twists straight out, and the result is something completely by the books.

Supernova is the story about a rescue vessel sent into deep space to pick someone up from a rogue moon. To make a short story shorter, they find both the person (who is, of course, accompanied with creepy music) and an alien artifact capable of creating new matter. Every person who touches the stuff becomes endowed with superhuman strength.

Masked & Anonymous Review

Bad
Masked & Anonymous, as a title, comes across as a vague, artsy moniker as inaccessible as the film it represents. But look closer at the name of this movie about revolution and despair, and you'll discover a clear reference to the film's writers; credited as Rene Fontaine and Sergei Petrov, the screenwriters have been unmasked, as it were, revealed to be the film's iconic star, Bob Dylan, and director Larry Charles (HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm).

The result of this combination is an overly ambitious film that's as muddled and cryptic as a mumble-filled Dylan vocal. Dylan stars as the symbolically named Jack Fate, an apparent musical legend, jailed in the midst of a brutally downtrodden America where the government has taken over, war is rampant, and even the counter-revolutionaries have counter-revolutionaries.

Strange Days Review

Good
I've never really given much thought to what the turn of the millennium is going to bring. Will it be a new beginning for society and the world? Or will it bring on the apocalypse foretold by Revelations?

Strange Days continuously plays these two possibilities off of each other, and in L.A., on December 31, 1999, it seems either one is equally likely. Ralph Fiennes plays Lenny Nero, a bottom-feeder ex-cop who peddles "clips," full-sensory pieces of memory from real people's lives. These clips are played on "the wire," a device which delivers experiences directly into the brain. The very illegal wire is also the source of a whole slew of problems, including the murder of one Jeriko One, a very influential rap star, and the subsequent stalking of Faith (Juliette Lewis), Nero's ex-girlfriend, for whom he still pines.
