Fact: Angela Bassett has been added to the cast of Marvel's new Black Panther movie. She will play Ramonda, the mother of the title character, portrayed by Chadwick Boseman. Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, and Florence Kasumba have also signed on for supporting roles in the Ryan Coogler movie, which is scheduled to hit cinemas in February, 2018.

Fact: Angela Bassett will return to Broadway to star alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. drama The Mountaintop. The play will begin performances on 22 September (11) at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre and officially opens on 13 October (11). The stageshow re-imagines what took place on 3 April, 1968 - the night before the assassination of the civil rights leader.
