Angelina Jolie has been rubbing shoulders with the royal family.

The 39 year-old recently met with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall after she made a speech at a summit on global sexual violence in London in the past couple of days (June 13th).

Jolie, a United Nations special envoy, was a guest at Clarence House on Thursday evening along with British Foreign Secretary William Hague to join the company of Prince Charles' wife.

The topic of sexual violence is something Camilla cares about deeply, she frequently visits rape centres around the U.K. to talk to the victims of their horrific ordeals.

The 'Maleficent' actress spent the past four days as co-chair of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, she gave key speeches on ways of raising awareness in front of representatives from over 100 countries.

It is due to this kind of work, using her notoriety to highlight the issues of sexual violence, Jolie has been made an honorary Dame.

But since the Hollywood star, who co-founded the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative PVSI, isn't from the U.K. of Commonwealth she cannot be addressed as Dame and only receives the award on an honorary basis.

"To receive an honour related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to," Jolie said, via Associated Press. "Working on PVSI and with survivors of rape is an honour in itself. I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine."

Angie was just one of hundreds of people recognized in the queen's annual Birthday Honours List for services to their community or national life.
