Anna Kendrick arranged for her friend to wear a set of extravagant diamond jewellery on her wedding day.

The 'Into The Woods' star was the maid of honour at her childhood best friend's nuptials in Maine, New England, on August 2 and to make her pal's day extra special she presented her with the fine gemstones which she loaned from jeweller to the stars Harry Kotlar in the morning.

Anna had missed many of the pre-wedding traditions involving the maid of honour as she was shooting upcoming film 'Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates' in Hawaii, only returning to the US two days prior to the ceremony so she was determined to get the extravagant accessories from the Los Angeles based jewellery store.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: ''Anna felt bad because she's been working non-stop and couldn't be there to do all the traditional duties she wanted to do. She just wanted to make her friend feel even more special on her wedding day to make up for it.''

The 29-year-old actress herself is in a relationship with cinematographer Ben Richardson but she has no plans to walk down the aisle any time soon.

She previously said: ''My parents got married late, so I just assumed that people didn't even consider marriage until they were in their 30s. When friends of mine started getting married at, like, 24, I was like, 'Why? What's wrong? Do you need a green card? What's happening?' I was so confused.''
