She’s too lovely is that Anne Hathaway, and she certainly shouldn’t have to apologize for a last-minute dress change before The Oscars on Sunday night (February 24, 2013), but that’s exactly what she’s gone and done.

Anne Hathaway Oscars 2013

Anne Hathaway looked stunning in her Prada gown - but it wasn't what she was supposed to be wearing.

Hathaway won the best supporting actress Oscar on Sunday for her role in Les Miserables, and looked stunning in a pale pink gown made by Prada. However, as fashion observers are well aware, Hathaway is usually seen in Valentino when it comes to public awards, and the new label caused some consternation among them – for some reason. As such, Hathaway has had to explain the change, telling People.com "It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans.”

Continuing, she added "Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused." We’re not sure what disappointment she possibly could have caused, but then we’re not part of the fashion hierarchy. Nevertheless, Hathaway really shouldn’t be apologizing to anyone this week after her great win at the weekend.
