Annie Lennox's daughter Tali has paid tribute to her ''best friend'' and ''soulmate'' Ian Jones after a body believed to be his was found in the Hudson River.

The 22-year-old beauty and her 32-year-old boyfriend were involved in a kayaking accident on Saturday (08.08.15) and while Tali was found shortly after the boat was believed to have capsized, a body has now been found in the search for her missing partner.

Tali - who is one of Eurythmics singer Annie's two daughters - wrote on Instagram: ''My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me. All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light. (sic)''

Tali and Ian - who had been sharing a double kayak - were not wearing life jackets when the accident occurred and police have said alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

Authorities are yet to confirm whether the body they found near Mills Mansion in upstate New York is that of Tali's long-term boyfriend, although they previously said it was likely he would have drowned.

A statement from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said: ''Just after 12:00 pm on 8/10/15 a human male body was located in the Hudson River near the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club.

''The body has been removed, and is scheduled to undergo an autopsy on Tuesday 8/11/15 to determine the cause of death and identification.

''The body matches the description of Mr. Ian Jones, who has been missing in the Hudson River since the morning of Saturday 8/8/15 after a kayaking accident.

''While there is a strong possibility that the body recovered is that of Mr. Jones, it remains only a possibility at this time.''
