GMTV host Kate Garraway has announced she is expecting her second child with husband Derek Draper.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant is already mother to Darcey, who will turn three in March, and is expecting her second baby this summer.

"We're over the moon to be having another baby and Darcy is very excited about having a new brother or sister to play with," the couple confirmed on Wednesday night.

"We all can't wait for the summer arrival," they told the Sun.

Garraway, who began working for GMTV in 2000, married psychotherapist Draper, a former Labour spin doctor, in 2006.

The couple explained they had recently broken the news of Garraway's pregnancy to Darcey.

"We sat her down and told her and she's really excited," Garraway said on GMTV.

"I thought, 'this is going well' and then she said, 'I've got a baby in my tummy too', so I thought maybe it has not yet sunk in."

Garraway and Draper were last year awarded "substantial" libel damages after the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror claimed she had been adulterous.

The newspapers implied she had been involved in an affair with Anton Du Beke, her dance partner on Strictly Come Dancing.

But after the TV presenter took action against publishing group MGN Limited over the two articles published in February 2008, Garraway was awarded a six-figure sum in damages and costs.
