Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner gave up watching television and playing computer games during the recording of the band's latest album, over fears technological entertainment can lead to writer's block.
The British rockers recently released their fourth record Suck It and See, which was recorded partly in New York, and Turner admits his bandmates went to extreme lengths to make sure he didn't stifle his songwriting ability during the studio sessions.
He tells Scotland's Daily Record, "They don't let me play computer games, or anything like that. I tried to get in Sky Digital (TV), but they took that away from me. Television? It's a gateway to writer's block, isn't it? I didn't have a telly when I was in New York..."
