Arctic Monkeys' have released the video for the song You And I, the B-side to their most recent single, Black Treacle, which was released on January 23rd 2012. To promote the release of their single, the band will be performing the song in the BBC's Live Lounge on January 25th, as well as the Jonathan Ross show on the 28th January 2012. The track was recorded and produced by Ross Orton who's worked with M.I.A, Roots Manuva and The Fall.
The video for You And I features was filmed by Focus Creeps and featured fellow Sheffield native Richard Hawley, who takes over on lead vocal duties on this song. The video cuts between the boys recording the song in a dimly lit studio and footage shot in the English countryside.
Arctic Monkeys were one of the first bands to achieve prominence via the Internet, changing the way new artists and bands were promoted. Their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, was released in 2006 and became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history, beating Definitely, Maybe by Oasis.
The band are also the only band to have four straight number one albums, falling just behind of the aforementioned Oasis, who have had all seven of their studio albums and one compilation album reach the top spot in the UK.
