Ariana Grande ''spat'' on doughnuts at a bakery, its owner has claimed.

Joe Marin - who owns Wolfee Donuts in California - has alleged that the 'Break Free' hitmaker was ''rude'' to his staff.

Recalling what he claims happened, he said: ''She was being rude. She kept telling my employee - an experienced doughnut server - she came to buy six doughnuts. She kept wanting the doughnuts in the back because my bakers were baking at that time.

''So my employee kept going in the back to go get the doughnuts that they were baking. Then she brought them out there and put them on top of the doughnut display, and she [Ariana] sent her to go get some more.''

The store owner also claims the 22-year-old star - who has denied any wrongdoing - licked two donuts before spitting on others.

He added to Us Weekly magazine: ''She was looking around, and that's when I saw she was licking two of the doughnuts. Then she went to another tray that was on top and there was a tray of powdered doughnuts. So I zoomed (the camera) into her mouth, and the powdered ones, she did not lick them, she spit (sic) on those.

''She spit on one of them, and she dared that guy she was seeing (dancer Ricky Alvarez) and he spit on it, too. I saw they were getting a kick out of it.''
