On the day that Ariana Grande drops the deluxe edition of her phenomenally successful album 'Positions' she has also shared four audio videos for her new songs. 'test drive', together with 'main thing', 'worst behaviour' and 'someone like u (interlude)', were all not original inclusions on Ariana's album that she released in October last year.
'test drive' is another silky smooth R&B track with a layered, often sensual, vocal treatment that plays perfectly to Grande's strengths. The mid-tempo song is as succinct as any Ariana Grande has ever done and comes in at just over two minutes, it's barely got you hooked before it's over. Treat 'em mean and keep 'em keen is obviously Ariana'a philosophy here.
The 'Stuck With U' singer, who recently wowed fans once again with her remixed version of '34+35', a re-imagined track featuring Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat, has been extremely busy ever since her sixth studio album came out. Her devoted, and often obsessive, admirers have been all of a lather awaiting the enhanced and extended version of 'Positions'. The new 19 track, 'Deluxe', album should hopefully go some way to satisfying the appetite's of her most voracious of followers.
In the early hours of Friday morning, on the day of her latest release, Ariana took to Instagram and Twitter to simply announce, "positions (deluxe) out now". The 27 year old Floridian originally left the titles of the songs she intended to include on the new 'Positions' album scratched out but eventually revealed them with less than a week to go before release.
No doubt in time the tracks will also come to have their own videos too, but for now we'll have to make do with the audio. After her girls day out at the spa with Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat, Ariana's probably just gotten used to chillin'.
