'Modern Family' actress Ariel Winter feels ''so excited and relieved'' after recently undergoing a breast reduction due to back pain.
Ariel Winter has announced she recently underwent a breast reduction.
The 'Modern Family' star, who was legally emancipated from her parents in May after being removed from her mother's home in October 2012 amid allegations of abuse, feels ''so excited and relieved'' after reducing the size of her ''painful'' breasts from a 32F to a 34D in June.
The 17-year-old actress said: ''It's amazing to finally feel right. This is how I was supposed to be.
''It started to hurt so bad that I couldn't take the pain. My neck was hurting so bad and I actually had some problems with my spine.''
The brunette beauty also used to find it ''really hard'' for her to find things to wear at red carpet events.
She told Glamour.com: ''There was so little that I could wear that was age-appropriate. I'd have to wear the dress that was super tight and form-fitted everywhere because if I didn't, it didn't look good.
''It's hard when you're a teenage girl and you already have a lot of ridicule and then you pile on more, and it's kind of...it just gets too much. We live in a day and age where everything you do is ridiculed. The Internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am, and that I am disgusting.''
But Ariel is still very proud of her figure.
She said: ''I have always been a curvier girl. Always. And I enjoy being a curvier girl.''
Her female co-stars have reacted positively to her transformation.
She said: ''I [only] told Julie Bowen because I had talked to her before about my desire to have the surgery. She was really supportive and understanding. I just saw [Sofia Vergara] the other day and she was like, 'Oh my God! I love them! They're great!'
''Everyone is really happy for me and has been super supportive. They understand I've been struggling with this for so many years.''
Meanwhile, the actress admits she is still estranged from her mother, Crystal Workman.
She said: ''She and I don't speak.''
