Faithless - 2.0 Album Review

If you didn't think Faithless could get any more big room with their music, then think again. They just did. Regarded as producing some of the biggest nights in electronica before the recent revolution and dominance of EDM, Faithless are back to celebrate 20 years since their nascent, now allowing the names in the industry to remix their classics into the songs that will satisfy the biggest electronic festivals around the planet.

Faithless - 2.0 Album Review

Calling in A list names such as Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Avicii, Above And Beyond, Eric Prydz and Axwell among others, the album has been given a contemporary make over, using the highest quality DJ's from house, trance and dnb to return Faithless to the masses.

The album at first seems to be about the numbers. The group are celebrating 20 years, the album is entitled 2.0. It's 2 CDs long - one remix album, one greatest hits. And all the remixed tracks are considered second generation, entitled 'insomnia 2.0' for example.

Creamfields 2015 - Preview

It's that time of the year again. Bank Holiday weekend in August. The time of the summer when Ibiza crash lands just outside Liverpool all because of a three-day weekender. We are of course talking about the UK's most sought after dance festival - Creamfields.

Creamfields 2015 - Preview

With Global Gathering taking a year sabbatical from the festival calendar, Creamfields is now unequivocally the biggest and greatest electronic line up in the isles, boasting huge headline acts over the three-day festival, amalgamating new acts such as David Zowie, all the way through to the veterans like Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyke.

With more festival exclusives than anyone else, whilst impulsively pumping much money into production and expansion, the festival has now firmly cemented itself as the go to premiere electronic-music festival, and will undoubtedly go off with more pyrotechnics and fireworks than a Chinese New Year.

Ultra Music Festival turned out to be a bit of a rollercoaster of a weekend for everyone this year but, as usual, it's been three days of some of the most explosive electronic acts of our generation.

It was a terribly disappointing moment for festival goers (and, indeed, viewers; those who were viewing it live online) when it was announced that Saturday's main stage headliner Avicii would not make it to Miami for his set after being hospitalised earlier in the week for an emergency operation. However, that initial fan frustration was greatly eased by the arrival of Deadmau5, who took the Swedish DJ's place to much delightful surprise. Further entertainment came with some eagerly anticipated headline sets from Tiesto and Hardwell on the Friday and Sunday respectively.

America's favourite EDM fest The Ultra Music Festival have rounded off their last weekend with an impressive line-up.

We expected nothing less than exhilarating, flawless electronic finery from Ultra's uber exciting 2013 2-weekend line-up and neither weekend's artists held back at all as they hit Miami's Bayfront Park full of enthusiasm. Weekend 2's line-up saw a sting of disc jockey legends including double Grammy winner David Guetta, DJ royalty Fatboy Slim, the more recent chart sensation Deadmau5 and the Gold-selling Calvin Harris. Other attendees included Afrojack, who recently remixed Psy's YouTube hit 'Gangnam Style', Dutch sensation Armin Van Buuren, Italian DJ Benni Benassi and out latest electronic music heroes Zeds Dead. Snoop Lion (aka Snoop Dogg) became the highlight of weekend 1, however, and he probably felt right at home having collaborated with many artists on the bill.
