The forthcoming sequels, which are simply titled 'Terminator 2' and 'Terminator 3', will hit theatres on May 19th, 2017, and June 29th, 2018, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who also claim the flicks will be shot back to back if 'Genisys' is a success.

Although little information is known about the plot of the first instalment, Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in the titular role, and his co-stars include Emilia Clarke and Jason Clarke as Sarah and John Connor, as well as Jai Courtney, Dayo Okeniyi, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee and J. K. Simmons.

'Genisys' is being directed by Alan Taylor, with a screenplay written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier.

The title of the first rebooted film was only revealed by Schwarzenegger last month via his Instagram page after filming was complete. In the snap he uploaded, 'Terminator Genisys' can be clearly seen written across on the back of a director's chair that Schwarzenegger is sitting in.
