Since the massacre at Sandy Hook in Newtown late last year, America's gun violence problem has not left conversation. Celebrities released a compaign called 'Demand a Plan', asking for an answer to the enormous problem that the overuse of guns pose on the nation. Now, at a press conference, Arnold Schwarzenegger has also spoken about the problems that America faces, reports the Guardian.

According to Arnie, fictional violence has nothing to do with real life. "[This is] entertainment and the other thing is a tragedy beyond belief. It's really serious and it's the real deal." He added: "We have to analyse how we deal with mental illness, how we deal with gun laws, how we deal with parenting."

He has just ended his seven year tenure as California's state governer, so this kind of debate has become second nature to him.  "Everything has to be analysed; no stone [left] unturned," he said. "How can we do better with gun laws? If there are any loopholes, if there's a problem, let's analyse it . Are we really dealing with the mental problems the right way as a society?" The answer, is clearly, a resounding 'no'. In direct reference to the Newtown shooting, he said: "Does a mother need to collect guns and take her little kids shooting?" Again, the answer is definitely 'no'.

Schwarzenegger has finally returned to a starring role, appearinng in The Last Stand which is set for release on January 18th.
