A fire ripped through Ashley Green’s West Hollywood condo today, tearing her home apart and, tragically, taking her dog's life. Apparently she has two dogs, though, and one of them is reportedly safe and sound.

TMZ first reported the fire, then added updates as they received them. Ashley, her boyfriend and her brother were out late last night and were sleeping when the fire broke out on the living room sofa. They left the place ASAP, but couldn’t get back in to save the dogs. A fireman explained to the gossip site that Ashley wanted to keep the dog that died, so the authorities wrapped it in a blanket so she could say her goodbyes. Ten fire trucks swarmed to the 7-story building to extinguish the blaze. The boyfriend, we assume, is Ryan Phillippe, and he’s recent news for the actress.
