Charlie Sheen has apologised to his Two and a Half Men successor Ashton Kutcher after Kutcher said he was fed up of his performance being criticised by Sheen. The 36 year-old Jobs star said on Jimmy Fallon Live! earlier this week that Sheen needed to get over not being on the sitcom any more.

Though Kutcher said he felt like he was on the show, the actor issues a direct plea to Sheen on the show, Kutcher said: "Dude, shut the f*** up! Seriously, like, enough already. Like it's like three years later and you're still blowing me up on Twitter. Like come on dude, really?"

Fallon jumped on the Sheen-bashing bandwagon, jobing "every time you go in, do they thank you for not being Charlie?" to roars of laughter from the audience.

In a surprise move, Sheen quickly took to Twitter to apologise to Kutcher: "Ashton message received. so sorry u sounded like me! well done! my bad I was ****** at other **** & took it out on you. hope u r good xox c" he tweeted. However, Sheen's apology had a barb in its tail. He tweeted an ominous threat soon after: "But news flash Dood, you ever tell me to shut the **** up, EVER again, and I'll put you on a hospital food diet for a year. c"

Charlie Sheen Issued An Apology...Barbed With A Threat.

Sheen was replaced by Kutcher on the hit sitcom in 2011 after a trail of questionable behaviour offset and rants about the show's creators, despite being the highest paid television actor at the time. After having earned nearly $2m (£1.2m) per episode during his heyday as Two and a Half Men's main star, there's little wonder that Sheen would perhaps be feeling so bitter to the show which has survived his absence with a new, young star.

It's not clear whether Kutcher will retaliate to Sheen's rather bizarre and uncalled for threat, but for all the fighting talk, it's probably a case of bark over bite...we hope.
