Christmas is entirely overrated and Grumpy Cat's new movie will show you why.
Good morning (depending on your time zone), it’s time for some inner conflict re: Grumpy Cat’s upcoming Christmas movie. If you haven’t heard of the furious feline, crowned ruler of the internet, I’ll chalk that up to your internet privileges being a bit recent and send you off to get learned.
Introducing Tardar Sauce, aka Grumpy Cat.
For the rest of you... here’s the new trailer for Grumpy Cat’s Angriest Christmas.
What do we think, gang? Here’s my breakdown: while I love and identify with ol’ Grumps to no end, maybe he should have stayed online, to be used by middle-schoolers, senior citizens and, eventually, the most ironic of hipsters. Nothing against His Majesty Grumpy Cat (aka Tardar Sauce, for the most dedicated enthusiast) or Lifetime, the force behind this holiday cheer-fest, it’s just that movies based on internet sensations don’t tend to work out that well.
More: Grumpy Cat Has Found A New Voice!
Aubrey Plaza replaces Jane Lynch as the voice of the least happy cat in the world.
That said, it’s going to be a pretty cute story. The special, set to air on Nov. 29, tells the story of a pet-store cat, who gets ignored by all the patrons. Until, that is, the cute little uggo gets picked up by a little girl.
"You really screwed up your big wish," Grumpy Cat reveals to the innocent young girl.
Ok, so I might be a little bit excited about this.
