Fact: Actress Audra McDonald had to cancel a planned appearance on U.S. cookery show The Chew on Wednesday (22Mar17) after falling ill with a "nasty case of the flu". The star is currently promoting her new movie musical Beauty and the Beast.
Fact: Broadway star Audra McDonald, singer James Taylor, soprano Renee Fleming and celebrated cellist Yo-yo Ma are set to headline a special show at New York's iconic Carnegie Hall next year (16) to mark the venue's 125th anniversary. She was joined onstage by The Good Wife star Josh Charles and host Jimmy Fallon, who sat side-by-side at a grand piano and tickled the ivories to provide a little background music.
Fact: Singer Josh Groban and Broadway stars Megan Hilty and Audra McDonald are among the celebrities lined up to honour late composer Marvin Hamlisch during a special New Year's Eve show, hosted by the New York Philharmonic on 31 December (12). The Big Apple event was originally due to be headlined by Hamlisch, who passed away in August (12), and now the party will serve as a celebration of his work.
