After being diagnosed with acute pancreatitis in 2012, Swedish electronic dance music DJ Avicii has decided to cut down on the amount he drinks. Tim Bergling, better known as Avicci, was apparently facing a lot of nerves over his gigs, and drank heavily to cope with it. Very soon, his daily intake included cocktails throughout the morning, wine all afternoon, and Champaign in the evening before gigs and bed.

The superstar behind 2011's 'Levels' spoke to 'GG' magazine, saying that: "You are travelling around, you live in a suitcase, you get to this [venue], there's free alcohol everywhere - it's sort of weird if you don't drink... I didn't expect it to last... I just got into a habit, because you rely on that encouragement and self-confidence you get from alcohol, and then you get dependent on it."

The party lifestyle soon took it's toll on the 23-year-old, when he was rushed to a New York hospital in January 2012 with "searing" abdominal pain. It took 11 days for him to recover, and Avicii now has to limit his alcohol intake - even though he admits that he often doesn't. "I probably drink more now than Ishould" he confessed, "but I have a pace. I never drink two days in a row."
