The incident occurred on August 15th. He was performing at a Zhejiang nightclub when, attempting to break up a fight in the crowd, he was hit in the face with a bottle. He was arrested but released when police realised he was not at fault.

Raz- B, whose real name is De'Mario Monte Thornton, was taken to hospital where his cuts were treated. The police pressed charges against the attacker and requested the perpetrator pay $5000 to cover Raz-B's medical costs. Raz-B also stated he would not be pressing charges. However, since the 28-year-old was rushed to hospital with more serious issues the next day, these charges may change.

Raz-B, following his hospital visit, appeared to be well until the next morning when one of his backing dancers attempted to wake him and he was unresponsive. He was then rushed to hospital and declared in a comatose state. His representative, speaking to TMZ, said Raz-B "is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible." He was placed on life support when admitted to hospital on August 16th.

Fortunately, the 28-year-old woke from his coma on Sunday 18th August. Doctors are amazed by his recovery: he is breathing without assistance, smiling and is responsive. He is remaining in hospital to be monitored.

Raz-B, according to TMZ, has been living in China for three years. He intends to return to the US to focus on breaking back into the R&B scene. He is best known for singing in the band B2K, alongside Lil Fizz, J-Boog and Omarion.
