Candy Crowley’s recent slip–of the tongue has had the more superstitious of US voters wondering whether or not it was a premonition.

During Sunday’s State Of The Union broadcast, the CNN news anchor accidentally referred to Mitt Romney as ‘President Romney.’ Good news for the Republicans, of course, who will be hoping to hear those words on the news a little more often from now on. But is this a sign, or simply a Freudian slip, from Candy Crowley?

So far, the election race is largely being described as ‘neck and neck,’ though some surveys suggest that in actual fact, President Obama is inching ahead of his rival. The actual election race might well be a tough fought battle, but if it was a case of winning on celebrity backing, we reckon Barack Obama would be assured of a second term as President. Not only does he have Jay Z and Beyonce backing him, but Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen and Katy Perry have all shown support for him, too.

According to the BBC, turnout at this year’s election will be crucial, as the race is so closely fought. As many as 30 million voters are thought to have cast their votes already. Obama is hoping for a second term in office, telling voters “our work is not done yet” and the words “President Romney” will no doubt be chilling ones to hear, for the man praying for re-election.
