You wouldn’t expect the Obama inauguration to have anything less than a line-up taken from the very top of the music industry, and the US President hasn’t let himself down, after getting Beyonce Knowles on board to perform at the beginning of his second term in leadership.

President Barack Obama will be re-swearing the oaths on January 21 as he prepares himself for another four years in the job, and he’ll be serenaded by not only Beyonce, but by Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor as well. Beyonce was always going to be a popular choice in the Obama household to appear at the event; as People Magazine point out, she and her husband Jay Z have been regular visitors to the White House, whilst the First Lady Michelle Obama has even been known to work out to Knowles’ music. Back in 2009, meanwhile, Beyonce performed Etta James’ classic ‘At Last’ during the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball as the President and his wife took their first dance. We wonder if this will be the first high profile even of her daughter, Blue Ivy, since she turned one year old this week.

Kelly Clarkson will have a tough pair of shoes to fill when she performs. The star will be singing ‘My Country ‘Tis Of Thee’, following soul legend Aretha Franklin, who took on the role back in 2009. James Taylor will sing ‘America The Beautiful’.
