The White House and President Barack Obama have become the latest in a list of high profile names to launch an official channel on Spotify so we can all share the same summer jams as the most powerful man in the world. Launching on Friday, President Obama has already shared two playlists, ‘The President's Summer Playlist: Day’ and ‘The President's Summer Playlist: Night’.

Obama’s day mix includes an elliptic mix of genres and artists including The Temptations, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin and Bob Marley. But showing he’s still current the president has also included Justin Timberlake’s ‘Pusher Love Girl’, Florence + The Machine with ‘Shake It Out’ and John Legend and André 3000’s ‘Green Light’.

The night mix is a lot more mellow and features Leonard Cohen ‘Suzanne’, Van Morrison ‘Moondance’, Joni Mitchell ‘Help Me’ and Beyoncé ft. Frank Ocean, ‘Superpower’. In a statement announcing the President’s Spotify presence the streaming service said, “Over the years, the White House has continued to grow its social media presences and find new ways to connect with people all over the country through a range of platforms.”

“On Spotify, you can expect to see the White House share playlists created by administration officials, as well as playlists curated around events and issues to engage the public and acquaint them with the people working in the administration." You can check out what Obama listens to here
