Superstar Barbra Streisand is reportedly set to return to the stage in her native Brooklyn, New York for the first time in more than 50 years this autumn (12).
The veteran singer/actress was born in the borough, where she attended the local Erasmus Hall High School and performed in the choir with fellow student Neil Diamond in the 1950s.
And while she has played numerous shows in the Big Apple since shooting to fame, the 70 year old has never been back to Brooklyn to sing - until now.
On Monday (07May12), bosses at Ticketmaster.com listed Streisand as one of the upcoming artists set to fill the new Barclays Center arena, the home of Jay Z's newly-renamed Brooklyn Nets basketball team.
The post has since been removed from the ticketing website, but rumours about Streisand's live homecoming continued to swirl after Brooklyn Nets Ceo Brett Yormark teased on Twitter.com, "Big announcement this week re the barclays center. I mean big. Very exciting times for brooklyn."
The Barclays Center is due for completion later this year (12) and rap icon Jay Z is set to launch the entertainment complex with a series of concerts at the end of September (12).
