The Tony Award-nominee passed away on Friday (23Oct15) in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Bibb made his Broadway debut in the chorus line of Annie Get Your Gun in 1946 and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Hand Is on the Gate in 1967.

In the 1950s, Bibb launched a singing career, recording albums including Leon Bibb Sings Folk Songs, Cherries & Plums and Shenandoah.

In addition to his acting and music career, Bibb also helped create and host talk show Someone New, in which he would feature unknown artists. Some of his guests included cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Barry Manilow. He was also known for his civil rights activism and was made a Member of the Order of British Columbia in 2009.
