Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has invited millions of fans to take part in his 70th birthday celebration this summer (10) - by displaying his signature 'peace' hand gesture at noon.
Starr is kicking off his septuagenarian years with a planned concert at New York's radio City Music Hall on 7 July (10) - and he wants fans to join him before the show by spreading "peace and love".
He's asking fans to share a moment of solidarity by giving the V-shaped hand symbol for peace at midday.
He says, "We have big plans to do an all star tour this summer. We'll be in New York on July 7 which is my birthday and we're going to celebrate. No matter what state you're in, at noon wherever you are I'd like you to (gesture) peace and love."
Starr's North American summer tour kicks off in Niagara Falls on 24 June (10).
